Removal and installation of the radio

Factory fitted radios are equipped carrying case that allows you to quickly install and remove it. However, this is only possible using a special tool, which is attached to the radio when buying or commercially available. The fact that the radio is in a case, as a rule, can be determined by 4 holes on the front panel.

1. Turn off the ignition. 2. Disconnect the earth cable (-) from the battery. A warning When disconnecting the battery erased the memory of the radio and the electronic control units. VW produces serial production of radios equipped with anti-theft code. It prevents unwanted inclusion of the device after tripping. Fitted as standard multipin connector suitable for all radio devices VW's 1988 models of cars of release. The plug has the following color-coded cables:

- Red - plus a constant;
- Brown - minus (weight machines);
- Gray / blue - highlighting the scale;
- Brown Red - the drive control on and off the ignition (special equipment). In no case do not connect to this drive voltage of the battery;
- Blue / White - speed signal for automatic volume adjustment (special equipment).

If you do not use cable with an adapter, make sure you pay attention to the good insulation bare wires. Otherwise, a short circuit and possible ignition of the winding of the cable.

If the radio will be installed in addition, set up the radio antenna. To do this, catch the weak medium-station. Then a small screwdriver to tune it for the best reception using rigged screw (front right side of the radio panel).
