Anti-lock brakes (ABS)
Anti-lock brakes (ABS) is designed to prevent the wheels from locking under heavy braking. The system "feels" when the brakes start to be blocked automatically redistributes the pressure in the brake circuits and thus prevents the wheels from locking (ie skidding).
NOTE When the car reaches a speed of about 6 km / h, ABS performs a self-test. The brake pedal will pulse a few times, and the control system will emit a distinctive sound. All this is not a malfunction. |
When the system is triggered during braking, you will feel a vibration in the brake pedal and also clearly hear the pulsating sound. It also does not indicate a malfunction. Do not release the pedal when you hear and feel that the system works ABS. To achieve the optimum effect to be fully press the brake pedal, ABS thus enables you to use the steering during braking of a vehicle, thereby improving your control over the vehicle and, consequently, improving the safety of your car.
