Check the engine oil level

Check the engine oil level is best done every time when refueling the car (especially important to check the oil level at the time of break-in period of a new car). The most reliable measurements can be obtained on a cold engine before starting.
Check the engine oil level as follows:
- Put the car on a level surface, switch off the engine and wait at least 3 minutes, during which the oil is collected in the sump;
- Remove the dipstick and wipe with a clean cloth;
- Lower the dipstick and pull it out again;

The marks on the dipstick
Fig. 2.49. The marks on the dipstick: A - the probe of the diesel engine; b - the petrol engine dipstick

- The oil level should be within the marked part of the probe (Fig. 2.49, and b) the difference between the marks ?MAX? and ?MIN? is about 1.9 liters for petrol engines and 2 liters for diesel engines (1 liter, B4184SJ) .
Do not add too much oil because This will cause it to excessive consumption.
After topping up the oil should be tightly wrapped the oil filler cap.

NOTE
To ensure proper measurement immerse the dipstick all the way down.

A WARNING
Do not spill oil onto the exhaust pipe, it may cause a fire.

Filling displacement - 5.4 liters including filter or 3.8 liters including filter - Engine B4184SJ.
