Inspection and steering on the car



Regularly check the condition of the steering, as it depends on traffic safety.
When viewed from the steering Pay special attention to the condition of protective covers and screw connections. Torn, cracked or lost elasticity of the rubber covers required to replace the otherwise trapped in the components water, dust and dirt quickly withdraw them from the system.
On vehicles equipped with hydraulic booster, check the condition of hoses and pipes connecting the pump, tank and steering gear.
Check the location of the steering wheel spokes, which are in the straight position of the front wheels must be located symmetrically relative to the vertical axis. Otherwise, determine the cause of the fault and correct it.
Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock, check visually and aurally:
- Reliable mounting of the steering mechanism and the steering wheel;
- The absence of a gap in the bushes steering rods and ball rod ends;
- Tightness of bolts and locking rods to the rail and nuts Ball joint;
- The absence of jamming and interference to the steering wheel.
If you find knocking and seizing, disconnect steering drafts from rotary arm telescopic racks and recheck. If knocking and seizing not stop, remove the steering gear from the car and repair.
1. Check the condition of protective covers of tips of steering drafts. Replace torn, cracked or lost elasticity covers.
2. Sharply turning the steering wheel in both directions (it's supposed to do Assistant), check visually and aurally right ...
3. ... and left the steering gear mounting. Moving mechanism and knocks are not allowed.
4. Check for backlash in the ball rod ends. Tips, joints which have significant backlash replace. Check also the tightness of the nuts finger spherical rod ends.
