Check and adjust the tension of V-ribbed belts

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Check the condition of the V-ribbed belt and its location on the pulleys.

If the V-ribbed belt makes unusual noise, check the belt for wear and damage, as well as working surfaces of pulleys. Also check belt deflection defining its tension.

In the absence of a special tool, check the belt tension, having pressed on it effort of 100 N in a place located on identical removal from pulleys and measure a belt deflection.

Deflection of a belt

- New belt: 5-5.5 mm;
- A previously used belt: 6-7 mm;
- Powered belt: 8 mm.
