Compression Test
If the engine works badly or with faults, check up system of ignition and fuel system. If the reasons for the poor performance of the engine could not be found, inspect a compression. Regular carrying out of this check will allow you to advance and prevent the occurrence of faults. | - Check the engine oil level. Make sure the starter works normally, but the battery is fully charged.
- Start the engine and warm it to a temperature of 80-95 ? C.
- Turn off the engine and remove the air filter element.
- Remove the fuel injectors.
- Rotate the crankshaft of the engine.
- Screw the tip compressometer 09,351 - 27,000 in the hole for the fuel injector.
- Starter cranked shaft of the engine and determine the scale of the instrument compression. Compression: 2942 kpa.
- Repeat steps 6-7 on the remaining cylinders, making sure that the pressure drop for each cylinder is within acceptable limits. Permissible differential pressure in the cylinders of the engine: 100 kpa.
| - If the compression is low in all the cylinders through the spark plug hole into the cylinders fill a few drops of engine oil and repeat steps 6-8.
|
- If oil filling compression raises perhaps worn piston rings;
- If the compression is at the same level may be burned or damaged valves cylinder head gasket.
