Repair of a head of cylinders

Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. In the sequence shown in Figure 2-3, remove the bolts securing the passage of the cylinder head.
  1. Special adaptation 09222 - 27300 compress the valve spring and remove the valve stem with crackers. Slowly release the tool, compress the spring and remove the valve spring, spring plate and the valve from the cylinder head.

To prepare the storage valves numbered plastic bags or containers.

  1. Pliers, remove the valve stem seal.

Do not reuse the valve stem seal.

Check

Cylinder Head

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Inspect the cylinder head for damage, cracks, leaks, oil and coolant. If necessary, replace the cylinder head.
  2. Remove scale, sealant, and carbon deposits. Compressed air blow channels for lubrication.
  1. Metal ruler and probe in six directions check the flatness of the cylinder head. If necessary, pereshlifuyte cylinder head.

Standard deviation from flatness:

- Width 0.03 mm;
- 0.09 mm in length;
- 0,012 mm diagonal.

Valves

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Wire brush, clean the valve.
  1. Examine each valve for wear, damage and deformations in the zones A and B and, if necessary, repair or replace it. If the end of the rod is worn or eaten, as appropriate, restore the chamfer. This recovery should be limited to the minimum metal removal.

Also check the thickness of the working edges.

The thickness of the edge of the valve:

The intake valves 1.16 mm
The outlet valve: 1.30 mm

Valve spring

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Inspect each valve spring for cracks and damage. Measure the length of the spring in a free state.
  1. Install the spring on a flat horizontal surface and measure the deflection of the spring from the top of the vertical plane.

The length of the spring-load: 39.14 mm
Spring length under a load of 21.4 kg: 32 mm
Tolerance springs from the vertical plane not more than 1,5 ?
Maximum permissible length reduction: 1 mm
Maximum permissible deviation of a spring from a vertical plane not more than 4 ?

Valve Guides

Check the clearance between the rod and the valve guide. If the clearance exceeds the limit, replace the valve guide to the bushing repair size larger.

The clearance between the stem and the valve guide:

The intake valves: 0,022-0,067 mm
The exhaust valves: 0,005-0,095 mm

Maximum permissible backlash between the shaft and valve guide:

The intake valves: 0.1 mm
The outlet valve: 0.15 mm

Valve seat inserts

Check valve seat for the presence of heat and disturbance of the working surface in contact with the valve plate. If necessary, repair or replace the valve seat.

Before replacement or repair of the valve seat, check the valve guide wear. If the valve guide sleeve is worn, replace it.

Assembly

  1. Before installing, clean the parts.
  2. Apply a thin coat of engine oil to all sliding surfaces.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Install the spring seat.
  2. Using a special device 09222 - 27200, set the valve stem seal.
  1. Do not reuse the old stem seals.
  2. Improperly installed valve stem seals may reduce its working edge due to the eccentricity and leads to leakage of engine oil through the valve guide. When installing, be careful not to twist the valve stem seal.
  1. Lubricate the valve stem with engine oil and install valve. When installing the valve, do not apply excessive force, so as not to damage the valve stem seal. Check for smooth movement of the valve.
  1. Install the spring and spring retainer. Springs should be installed side coated with enamel to the spring retainer.
  1. Special adaptation 09222 - 27300 compress a spring. Place crackers and remove special tool for spring.

When you compress a spring, make sure that the valve stem seal is not pinched spring compressor.

  1. Clean all the gasket surfaces of the cylinder and the cylinder head.
  1. Determine the thickness of the cylinder head gasket:
    1. Measure the protrusion of the piston installed in TDC with respect to the mating surface of the cylinder;
    2. depending on the piston protrusion on the table, select the thickness of the gasket. As the quantity of protrusion of the piston must be the average of eight measurements. Even if one measurement exceeds acceptable limits the thickness of the gasket should be selected on the basis of the measurement of protrusion of this point.
  1. Install the new cylinder head gasket so that the surface with the marking was directed to the cylinder head.
  1. In the sequence shown in the illustration, tighten the cylinder head bolts. Torque: 50 N ??? m tighten on a corner 120 ?.

Protrusion
