Removal, major repairs and installation of supports of disk brake

Dust generated brakes in the course of their work may contain unhealthy asbestos. In no case do not blow off the dust from the surfaces of the components brake compressed air and do not inhale it. The work is best done in a protective respiratory mask. In no case do not clean the brake components petroleum solvents or gasoline - use proprietary tools to clean the brakes!

If there is a need for overhaul support (usually a consequence of fluid leaks), before proceeding to examine all the possible options for its implementation. It can be purchased on the exchange through factory remanufactured calipers, which greatly simplifies the task. If a decision on the restoration of the old slide before starting work make sure there is a special remnabora. Supports are always repaired in pairs - capital repair of only one of them in any case is not admissible!

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the cover from the brake fluid reservoir. Suction (not mouth) of the container two-thirds of its contents. Drain into a container for later putting it in a special collection point.
  2. Loosen the nuts of the front wheels, Poddomkratte front of the car and establish it on props. Remove the front wheels.
  3. Push in the caliper piston to its nest (see.

If you are going to just remove the caliper (and produce its overhaul), do not disconnect it from the brake hose. Give a hollow bolt receiving choke assembly brake hose and disconnect the hose from the caliper (see. At hand should be rags to collect spilled liquid. Wrap the end of the hose with plastic wrap and secure it with a rubber bandage (or plug the hose) to prevent excessive loss of liquid and hit in dirt system.

  1. Give two fixing bolts, remove the caliper from the vehicle (Section Replacement disc brake pads). If the support is removed to provide access to other components, tie it in to the side of the suspension element - make sure that at the same time do not pull the brake hose!

Overhaul

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Wipe the outer surface of a support special cleaner or clean brake fluid. In no case do not use gasoline, kerosene or petroleum solvents! Place the support on a clean workbench.
  2. Put into the caliper as a pillow or a piece of wood a few lumps of cloth and squeeze out the piston from the caliper cylinder with compressed air. Do not increase the air flow is greater than necessary for squeezing the piston. If too much pressure piston jumping can be damaged, even though the nested pillow.

In no case do not put your fingers into the space in front of the piston when blowing the last of the cylinder - it is fraught with serious injury.

  1. Put it under the front surface of the piston calipers amortization pillow (a piece of wood or rags), squeeze out the piston from the cylinder with compressed air - watch your fingers be caught between the piston and the frame support (cushion)!
  1. Carefully remove the boot from the socket support.
  1. Carefully remove the boot from the caliper.

The components of the disc brake caliper.

  1. With wooden or plastic tool, remove the cuff from the groove in the slot slide Using metal tools may cause damage to the mirror housing.
  1. The cuff of the piston must be removed from the nest at a wooden or plastic tool to prevent damage to mirror the slot and / or grooves cuffs - convenient to use for this purpose a pencil.
  1. Remove the valve pumping support, then remove and discard the sleeve mounting pins. Remember that the rubber components are not subject to re-use.
  1. Grasp the edges of the sleeves for the installation of the locking pin and needle-nose pliers, making rotary-translational motion of the hand, remove them from the lugs slide.
  1. Wash the remaining ingredients in a proprietary cleaner or clean brake fluid, then dry them with compressed air.
  2. Carefully check the piston for scoring, burrs or disorders of the outer cover. In case of surface defects component to be replaced.
  3. Similar checks expose mirror nest piston in the caliper. Minor defects can be eliminated with the help of polish fine sandpaper. Defective or corroded fasteners pins caliper must be replaced.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. When assembling, lubricate the mirror nest and cuff piston with clean brake fluid. Place the cuff into the groove in the slot.
  2. Lubricate the piston with clean brake fluid, then fill it perpendicular and crush all the way to the bottom of the slot.
  1. When installing the piston caliper before utaplivat it into the socket, make sure that it is not skewed.
  1. Fill the new boot into the groove on the piston, then gently put him in the slot.
  1. If there is no possibility to use a special tool to fit in the boot of a support jack, you can accurately obstuchal it around the perimeter of the knockout.
  1. Screw the valve pumping.
  2. Install the inner and outer sleeves pins caliper mounting
  3. Check fixing pins for signs of corrosion, if necessary, replace.
  4. Clean and lubricate the slide bush fixing pins (see. Illustration "Remove the sleeve of both the locking pin ..." and "Install the sleeve in place").
  5. Install the caliper.
  6. Connect the brake hose and tighten banjo bolt fastening it to a support, paving the new copper washers. Tighten bolts with demanded effort.
  7. If the brake line undocks, do not forget to pump the brakes (Section Bleeding brake system).
  8. Establish wheels and lower the car to the ground. Tighten the wheel nuts with demanded effort.
  9. Upon completion of the work several times severely depress the brake pedal pad shrink disk.
  10. Before you start to operate the vehicle check up serviceability of functioning of brakes.
