Check and repair the heater glass tailgate
Heater glass tailgate is a series of horizontal elements glued onto the glass surface on its inner side. Small gaps elements can be eliminated without removing the glass. Check | - Turn on the ignition and the heater glass tailgate.
- Ground the negative lead of the voltmeter to the terminal A, connect the positive terminal B.
| Testing point heater glass tailgate. |
- Voltmeter should be in the range between 10 and 15 V. The lower voltage to a violation of the quality of the grounding.
- Connect the voltmeter negative lead to a good ground point - reading should not change.
- Connect the negative cable to the terminal A, then the touch probe turns positive wire to the middle point of each of the grating lines of the heater.
- Readings shall be each time about 6 V. The zero voltmeter reading indicates a continuity between the midpoint C and terminal B.
- Display 10 - 14 indicates a continuity between the midpoint C and the terminal A. Set the probe to the side of the cliff; after crossing the last reading will change.

Repairs | - In order to restore the continuity of lattice elements is recommended to use special repair kits such as MOPAR ? 4267922 (or equivalent). The kit contains a plastic Conductive epoxy compound.
- Before the start of the recovery, turn off the heater element let it cool for a few minutes.
- Lightly rub the affected area with a thin stiff hair, then wipe it with alcohol.
- Apply masking tape on both sides of the damaged section parallel to the line item.
| - To restore the damaged section of the horizontal heater element lattice paste on both sides of a strip of adhesive tape.
|
- Thoroughly knead the compound in accordance with the instructions attached to the kit.
- Apply the compound into the lumen between the strips of tape on the damaged section of the element, blocking its healthy edge approximately 20 mm.
- Allow the compound to stand for 24 hours, then you can remove the masking tape and try heater.
