In this chapter includes information on procedures for the general overhaul of the head (s) of cylinders and internal engine components.

The information covers a variety of tips to prepare for the renovation and purchase of spare parts, to detailed, step by step description of procedures of removal, check the status and positioning of the internal components of the engine.

Topics in this chapter are based on the assumption that the engine is pre-removed from the car. Information for repair procedures that do not require extraction of the engine, as well as description of procedures of removal, installation of ancillary and external components is presented in Chapters straight six-cylinder engine and engine V8, and in section Methods of removal of the engine and the necessary precautions and Recovery Options engine of this Chapter .
