Checking the bearing play of the front wheels

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Lift the car and fix on support. By moving the wheel in various directions determine if the front wheel bearing play.

Front wheel bearing play: 0 mm

2. Manually, as quickly as possible, turn the wheel and make sure that the wheel rotates smoothly and without abnormal noise.

A warning

Do not confuse the bearing play with play ball joint of the lower arm front suspension. In the presence of bearing play is necessary to adjust bearing preload.

3. Remove the wheel. Remove the bolts, remove the caliper front brake and, without disconnecting from it a brake hose, a soft wire fix it on an amortization rack.
4. Establish a measuring tip of a dial indicator on the end of the hub of the front wheel and, moving along the axis of the hub, measure bearing play.

Axial clearance: 0 mm
