Check and adjust belt drives the air conditioning compressor and the power steering pump
With insufficient belt tension power steering pump and air conditioning compressor deteriorates circulation of fluid in the power steering system, due to which increases the force on the steering wheel and shortens the life of the pump and the steering mechanism. Check the tension of the belt drive power steering pump and air conditioning compressor in the engine compartment on top. Adjust the tension by moving the pump relative to the engine. Under normal belt tension deflection under concentrated load of 98 N (10 kg) should be 6-9 mm. You will need: the key "14" face head "14" extender knob. | | 1. To adjust belt tension, loosen the nut of the adjusting mechanism of the water pump to a tension bar. | 2. Loosen the bolt of the power steering pump bracket to the engine. |
| 3. Turn the adjusting bolt Achieve the required belt tension. |
4. Tighten the bolt of the pump to the motor bracket and the nut of the adjusting mechanism. |
