Check the wear of brake pads

You will need a ruler or caliper.

NOTE

On the domestic front brake pads wear indicators installed. Upon reaching the minimum allowable thickness of the pads during braking wear indicator touches the brake disc, causing creaking, signaling the extreme wear of brake pads.

1. Place the vehicle on a lift or jack (supports).

2. Remove the front wheel.

3. Check the housing through a hole in the brake caliper pad state. If the thickness of the friction linings of about 2.0 mm, replace the pads.

4. To check the degree of wear of the brake pads rear brake, remove the wheel and the brake drum (see. "Replacing the brake drum"), measure the thickness of the friction pads caliper or ruler.

NOTES

On the inside of the shield brake the rear wheel has a hole, closed with a rubber stopper, through which indirectly can evaluate the condition of brake pads (photo made for clarity on the removed rear knuckle).

Replace pads in the following cases:

- Lining thickness less than 2.0 mm;

- The surface of the lining zamaslena;

- Lining loosely connected to the base.
