Checking and topping up the coolant
You will need: the coolant, a funnel with a clean cloth.
RECOMMENDATIONS Mark coolant recommended by the manufacturer of the car, is listed in Annex 2. Ask your dealer-seller brand car drenched in your car fluids. Do not mix fluids of different colors and from different manufacturers. If you do not know the brand of filled liquid, and the liquid must be topped up, replace all of the liquid in the cooling system. Use only products of proven manufacturers. Remember that the use of low-quality coolant leads to costly repairs of the engine! Before you start the vehicle on a flat surface.
|
WARNINGS Check the coolant level only on the cold engine. The coolant is toxic, so be careful when you work with it. Do not pour the liquid in the tank above the mark ?F? on the dipstick, as with the engine to increase its volume. When starting the engine radiator cap and expansion tank should be closed. |
HELPFUL HINTS Be sure to monitor the level of coolant. His abrupt reduction or increase should be a signal for immediate check of the engine cooling system. If the freshly poured antifreeze suddenly quickly changed color to tan, then you sold the fake, which "forgot" to add corrosion inhibitors. As soon as possible, replace the liquid until it has had time to corrode the cooling system. |
The neck of the expansion tank is located in the front left of the engine compartment near the battery. | | 1. To check the coolant level, remove the stopper of a mouth of a broad tank. | 2. The stopper is manufactured together with a liquid level indicator. Wipe pointer cloth insert into the neck of the maximum depth and again remove. |
| | 3. The fluid level should be between marks ?F? (full) and ?L? (low) on the index. | 4. Fill the coolant periodically checking the level of the index. |
NOTE If the expansion tank completely empty, remove the radiator cap by turning it 90 ? counter-clockwise ... ... and add coolant to the radiator up to the edge of his mouth. Then close the radiator cap and add coolant to the surge tank to the required level. |
A WARNING Close radiator cap tightly. With the engine radiator is under pressure, so from the loosely capped coolant can leak. |
5. Close the expansion tank cap, remove spilled liquid with a clean cloth. |
