Checking and topping up the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir and master cylinder clutch
You will need: brake fluid, clean cloth.
HELPFUL HINTS The type of fluid - DOT-3 and DOT-4. We recommend checking the level before each departure, and if necessary add a liquid in a tank. If you have to often topped up the brake fluid in the reservoir immediately repair. When replacing the brake fluid in the system, make a note of the brand of fluid, which was flooded to refill use the same brand. |
The tank is installed on the master cylinder on the left side of the engine compartment at the bulkhead. Master cylinder reservoir also serves as the supply tank for the master cylinder and clutch cylinder is connected to a flexible hose. A WARNING Use caution when working with brake fluid: it is toxic. |
HELPFUL HINTS In order not to expose themselves to future unforeseen expenses for repair brake system, and then the whole vehicle as a whole, promptly replace the brake fluid fresh. Brake fluid is highly hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air, in addition to the corrosion of parts of brake system lowers the boiling point of the fluid, and it can lead to brake failure with frequent heavy braking. Do not use the drained fluid from the system again: it is contaminated, saturated with air and moisture. Hit the brake fluid on the wire, plastic or painted parts of the body can cause damage, so always lay a clean cloth when pouring. If the liquid gets on these details immediately wipe them with a clean cloth. |
1. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. It must be between the ?MIN? and ?MAX?, marked on the tank. |
NOTE The liquid level in the tank is monitored sensor-float. If the level falls below a label ?MIN?, in the dash warning light low brake fluid level. |
A WARNING The gradual decrease in the fluid level in the absence of leakage is likely to indicate the need for replacement of brake pads. Check the condition of the brake pads (see. "Check the wear of brake pads"). Failure to replace the pad leads to costly repairs (replacement of brake discs, drums, calipers)! |
| | 2. If the level is below the mark ?MIN?, remove the reservoir cap, put it on a clean rag ... | 3. ... and remove the rubber sealing gasket. |
| 4. Add a brake liquid to a label ?MAX?. |
5. Check the operation of the sensor signal lamp status of brake system. Turn on the ignition and then drown float, such as a screwdriver. The dash should illuminate the warning light. If the lamp does not light, refer to the experts: most likely, the sensor is defective. |
6. Turn the tank stopper. |
