Checking and topping up the oil in the lubricating system

You will need: engine oil, funnel, clean cloth.

NOTE

The type of engine oil is given in Appendix 2.

WARNINGS

Before checking the oil level after the trip stop the engine and wait for 5-10 minutes until the oil will merge into the tray.

Add oil of the same grade, viscosity grade and quality as those used previously.

The oil level in the crankcase does not exceed the upper mark on the index, or may leak through seals and gaskets, malfunctions of hydraulic valve clearance and increased oil consumption.

Check the level of the vehicle, mounted on a level surface.

Checking and topping up the oil in the lubricating system

Oil filler plug is located on the front of the cylinder head cover. Oil level indicator (dipstick) engine located on the left front of the engine block near the oil filler cap.


1. Remove the top part of the oil dipstick from the holder ...	2. ... remove the pointer, wipe it with a clean cloth and reinsert it.


3. Re-remove the pointer. The level of the oil film should be between upper and lower marks. If the oil level is close to the bottom or below the mark, add oil.	4. For topping up the oil, remove the oil filler cap.

5. Pour the oil in the engine, controlling the oil level with the pointer. Before you remove the index, wait 2-3 minutes to allow the oil to drain into the crankcase.

6. Once the oil reaches the required level, tighten the plug cap.
