Replacing valve stem seals
External signs of wear valve stem seals is a brief appearance of blue smoke from the exhaust pipe when the engine is started and when braking the motor after a long movement under load. Replace the valve seals is possible without removing the cylinder head from the engine. You will need: all the tools necessary to remove the cylinder head cover (see. | 15. Before installing the new valve stem seals is recommended to remove from them the spring, or caps may be damaged when they pass through the groove under the crackers on the valves. If you set new caps included plastic mounting sleeve, the spring can not be removed. In this case, slide the sleeve onto the valve stem. |
16. Coat the inner surface of the valve stem seal with engine oil and slide the cap on the valve stem to the guide sleeve. |
17. Install Tool for fitting the cap. Easy blows of the hammer mandrel press-fit the cap until it stops. In the absence of a special device, you can choose a suitable diameter cylindrical mandrel and through a press fit cap with light blows of a hammer on the mandrel. |

18. Remove the guide sleeve with the valve stem, or put on a cap spring, when it is removed. |

20. Similarly, replace the valve seals the remaining three valves of 1st cylinder and four-valve 4-cylinder. |
21. Rotate the crankshaft by a half turn to the pistons at TDC established the 2nd and 3rd cylinders, valve stem seals and replace other valves. |
22. Install the parts in reverse order of removal. |
