Adjusting the angle of convergence
Convergence is defined as the difference in distance between the front and rear sides of the front wheels, measured along the edges of disks at the hub. Excessive toe-in can be found on the wear on the rider tracks tread tire failure - for internal wear tracks tire tread. To test requires a precision instrument with enough measuring range. When checking the toe angle, proceed as follows: - Set the wheels straight; - Attach a meter at the edges of the hub wheel from the front. The contact pins of the device set to zero, the place of applying the contact pins chalk mark on the tire; - To move the car forward to the front wheels have turned half a turn, and attach the unit to the rear side of the wheel to the chalk marks made earlier. The difference between the two figures obtained should be (0 ? 1) mm. If so, do not need to adjust the toe. Otherwise it is necessary to put a predetermined value. On HUNDRED toe measured in degrees; - Toe is adjusted by changing the length of the tips of steering drafts after loosening clamps. Before tightening the clamps should be the way to press the tips of steering drafts from both sides in the same direction. After tightening check free movement in the longitudinal direction of the tip; - After finishing work again measure convergence.
