The vehicle identification number can be found in a special viewing window on the left under the windshield, in addition, the number stamped on the right-hand longitudinal beam of the frame of the car, and also mentioned in the nameplate (see. Below).

The vehicle identification number is encrypted following information:

1 and 19 - signs with the image the brand Mersedes-Benz (star) - indicate the beginning and end of the VIN (presence optional)

2-4 - The international code of the manufacturer

5-10 - The serial number of the model (163.113: ML 270 CDI, 163.128: ML 400 CDI, 163.136: ML 230, 163.154: ML 320, 163.157: ML 350, 163.172: ML 430, 163.174: ML 55 AMG, 163.175: ML 500 )

Nameplate

Location nameplate shown. The label indicates the vehicle's VIN as well as the permissible weight load - more detailed information is available in the executive offices of Mercedes-Benz.

Twin power unit

On the ML 320, 400 CDI, 500 and 55 AMG engine number is located on the right rear (in the direction of movement) of the power unit for models 270 CDI, - in the left rear.
