Removing and installing exhaust system
| If necessary, each of the sections of the exhaust system can be removed individually. |
| All the elements of the self-locking threaded fasteners must be replaced without fail! |
Petrol models The models 463.249 / 250 standard Besides models 463.250 (code K89) and 463.246 (AMG) Details of installing the components of the exhaust system on models 463.249 / 250 manufacture 11.30.00
| Attachment of the lower section of the exhaust system (only models 463.250) |
| - Remove the right dokatalitichesky lambda probe (G3 / 4) on the front section of the exhaust system and disconnect the wiring (G3 / 4x1).
- Turn left dokatalitichesky lambda probe (G3 / 3) of the cross-section of the exhaust system (6) and detach the wiring harness (G3 / 3x1).
- Release screw connections (2/3) and separate the flange of the left front section (9) of the exhaust system from the right exhaust manifold, - if necessary, replace the nuts (3).
- On models 463,250 remove arms (11) securing the lower section of the exhaust system.
- Release screw connections (2/3) and separate the flange transverse section (6) of the exhaust system on the right-hand front section (9), - if necessary, replace the nuts (3).
- Operating in a similar manner, separate the cross from the left section of the exhaust manifold, - if necessary, replace the nuts (3).
- Remove the bolts (10) and separate the cross-section (6) of the transmission housing.
- Dismember mounting flanges catalytic converter (5) to the front section (9) of the exhaust system and the main muffler (7).
- Remove the section of the catalytic converter (5) from the rubber hanger (1), - if the catalytic converters are subject to removal, release both brackets.
- Separate main silencer (7) from the rear silencer (8).
- Loosen and remove the bracket fit rear muffler (8) with rubber suspensions (1).
- Installation is in the reverse order - the damaged O-rings and rubber suspensions are subject to replacement without fail. The same applies to the nuts (3) flanges. Make sure that the section of the exhaust system were installed stress-free.

| - Release the fixing collar (2) and separate the exhaust pipe (1) from the main muffler (12).
- Otboltite exhaust pipe (1) from the support bracket (3) and pull it out from under the car.
- Release the flange connections (5 and 6) fixing the left front muffler (4).
- Remove the muffler (4) to the support bracket (7).
- Disconnect the wiring from the upper and lower oxygen sensors on the left catalytic converter (8).
- Remove the top section thermofilter (9).
- Release the flange connection (10) of the left front section of the exhaust system.
- Separate the bracket (11) of the left frame and the catalytic converter (8).
- Release the flange connection (13) securing the main muffler (12) to the right front muffler (14).
- Remove the main silencer (12).
- Release the flange connection (15) securing the right front of the muffler (14) to the catalytic converter (17).
- Separate from the frame bracket (16) and remove the right front silencer (14).
- Disconnect the wiring from the upper and lower lambda probes on the right catalytic converter (17).
- Remove the top section thermofilter (18).
- Release the flange connection (19) securing the right catalytic converter (17) to the right of the front section.
- Disconnect the frame bracket (20) and remove the assembly the right catalytic converter (17).
- Installation is in the reverse order - make sure that the section of the exhaust system were installed stress-free.

| - Release the flange connection (5) of the left lower section of the exhaust system.
- Release the flange connection (1) on the rear muffler assembly (2).
- Remove the frame bracket (7) and remove the unit TWC (4).
- Remove the rear silencer (2) Suspensions (3) and pull it out from under the car.
- Disconnect the electrical wiring from the lambda probe assembly of the top and bottom of the catalytic converter (4), - fixing the binding should be cut.
- Remove the top section of the left thermofilter.
- Installation is performed in reverse order - do not forget to install new wiring harnesses mounting lambda probes.

Models 463.323 (M612) The main components of the exhaust system Details of installing the components of the exhaust system on models 463.323 (M612)
| - Release screws (1 and 3) securing the front (2) and rear (4) brackets.
- Release the left (5) and right (7) flanged connections on the rear muffler (6) to be pre-prop. Prepare a removable sealing cone.
- Otboltite middle section of the exhaust system (8) of the front (2) and rear (4) bracket and remove it from under the car, it is wise to enlist the help of an assistant.
- Release the flange connection (5) fixed to the rear muffler (6) of the discharge pipe (9), - prepare a removable sealing cone.
- Remove the rear exhaust pipes (6) and outlet pipe (9).
- Installation is in the reverse order.

Replacing the primary catalytic converter Details of the installation of the primary catalytic converter models 463.323 (M612)
| - Remove the trim panel of the cylinder head cover.
- Remove the air cleaner (see. Section Service Component inlet air path).
- Remove the collar (1) from the turbocharger (2) to the primary catalytic converter (3), - prepare a removable sealing cone.
- Remove the collar (4) from the primary catalytic converter (3) to the exhaust pipe (5) - Prepare a removable sealing cone.
- Loosen the nuts (7) and remove the bracket (6) securing the catalytic converter (3) to the crankcase.
- Remove the catalytic converter (3).
- Installation is in the reverse order.

| - Poddomkratte car and establish it on props.
- Remove wheel arch lockers protection (see chap. Body).
- Remove the mounting bolts (3 and 4) and remove cover (1 and 2).
- Remove the bolts (7) and remove the left (5) and right (6) thermofilters.
- Otboltite fixing collars (8) on the turbocharger.
- Prop up the main muffler (12) and release the clamps (11).
- Remove the main silencer (12).
- Release clamps (13).
- Support the assembly of the front muffler and catalytic converter and remove the bolts (14) on the bracket (15).
- Pull the front muffler (16) from the right catalytic converter (17) and remove it from the vehicle.
- Remove the bolt (18) on the bracket (19) and remove the right catalytic converter (17).
- Remove the bolt (20) on the bracket (21) and remove the left front silencer (22) by pulling it from the left catalytic converter (23).
- Remove the bolt (24) on the bracket (25) and remove the left catalytic converter (23).
- Remove the outlet pipe (10).
- Installation is in the reverse order.
