Service solenoid valve fuel return - only l models 3.0

Checking operation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the hose from the fuel return pipe and the lower end into the prepared container. Plug the open end of the tube in order to avoid hit in dirt system.
  2. Connect the tachometer and ask the assistant to start the engine.
  3. At engine speeds of over 1400 min fuel should flow from the hose weak shocks.
  4. At speeds below 1 250 per minute should be a weakly continuous leakage of fuel into the tank.

Checking the Status

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector of the solenoid valve and the return fuel valve to terminal voltage of the battery. Blow to the end of the fuel return hose. There must be a free flotation.
  2. Disconnect from the valve the battery voltage and again Blow in return hose. At this time, there should be no cross-country.
  3. Unless either of the above conditions, replace the valve.

Checking the loop

All checks are made on the engine speed unit located above the fuse box mounting. Sounding of contacts should be made with the back of the electrical connector. As the mass of the metal body acts. Terminal locations shown in the accompanying illustration.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the terminal C and ground. Conductivity should occur.
  2. Using a voltmeter, check the presence of battery voltage at terminal D.
  3. Ignition make in the presence of battery voltage at terminal B.
  4. Start the engine and gradually raise its turnover. The voltage on terminal B must fall slightly.
  5. At engine speeds below 1250 in the presence of a minute, check the battery voltage at terminal A.
  6. With speeds in excess of 1400 per minute voltage at terminal A should not be.
  7. If the above checks give a positive result, it will likely have to replace the engine speed.

Refitting

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector solenoid valve fuel return.
  3. Install a drain valve and remove the capacity of the fuel hoses.
  4. Give fixing bolts and remove the solenoid valve of return of fuel from the vehicle.

Setting

Installation is in the reverse order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before connecting, check the condition of the fuel hoses.
  2. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
