Removing the clutch



The clutch can be removed only after the removal of the entire unit and then disconnect the engine or after the removal of a single transmission.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the engine or transmission (Chapter Engine or Manual transmission, differential and the main transfer).
  2. Mark the position of the clutch onto the flywheel. To do this, use a center punch, which makes a mark in the clutch cover and flywheel.
  3. Gradually loosen the bolts of the clutch illustrated sequence until the unloaded spring.
Sequence of easing of bolts of the clutch. Tighten the bolts in the reverse order.
  1. Remove the clutch cover and remove the clutch disc.
  2. Just wipe with a cloth inside of the flywheel and check the friction surface of the flywheel. If the clutch disc is worn until the rivet heads may be that the studs cut into the flywheel. If necessary, replace the flywheel as described in the relevant chapter.
  3. When removing the engine and transmission are always grip loosened, so that it can be checked. Replacing the clutch at this point saves care in the future. Also check the release bearing.
