The air conditioning system
Golf III of cars equipped with air conditioning. They established a system of two types - regular and semi-automatic (Climatronic). In both cases, the system is a combination of heating, ventilation and cooling of the interior, thanks to which, at any time of year, you can create and maintain the desired vehicle interior temperature. Air conditioning and heating works only when the blower, the engine running and the ambient temperature is above +5 ? C. Air conditioning not only reduces the temperature, but also dries the air in the cabin, which increases comfort, especially when humidity is high, reduces the likelihood of misting.

Controls ventilation and heating: 1 - mode switch of the fan; 2 - cabin temperature regulator (Thermotronic control system can support the following cabin temperature: 18 ? C, 20 ? C, 22 ? C, 24 ? C, 26 ? C and 28 ? C); 3 - control switch air distribution (3a - air supply to the air vents; 3b - air supply to the air vents in the footwell; 3c - air flow to the footwell; 3g - air flow to the windscreen and side windows); 4 - switch the air recirculation in the cabin; 5 - C switch (in position 0 blocked ducts, fan and air conditioning switched off. The outside air in the cabin is not supplied)

Conventional air-conditioning system is extremely easy to operate. In analogy with cars not equipped with air conditioning, with dial 1 (see. Fig. 1.7) set the fan speed of the cabin. By means of the regulator (2) is used to select the supply air temperature; leftmost position controller corresponds to the low temperature, the right - high. Use the key (5) to turn on / off the air conditioner. Key (4) is used to activate / deactivate air recirculation mode.

The air conditioning system Climatronic (Fig. 1.9) allows to automatically maintain a constant temperature by changing the temperature of the intake air and the amount by reducing or increasing the rotational speed of the fan. Turning Climatronic system is automatic, with the ignition on. The air conditioner runs in the automatic mode. Its indicator lights symbols 1, 2, 6 and 7. When you press the ?AUTO? air conditioner starts automatically maintain the set temperature mode (automatically changed not only the supply air temperature, and its volume). After turning off the ignition temperature or choice other than automatically maintained, given the program will be stored in the memory of the air conditioner for about an hour. When the ignition is turned on later, air conditioner will once again operate in automatic mode. Interior temperature is regulated using the buttons (16) and (17). The selected temperature will be maintained as long as there is no other set. Climatronic system automatically supports any selected temperature within the range of +18 to +29 ? C. When you try to set the value lower than + 18 ? C displayed on the display the inscription ?LO?, and above + 29 ? C - the inscription ?HI?. The first message indicates that you have selected a too low temperature, and the second - too high. If necessary, you can set the air conditioner manually. Button (9) and (10) respectively increase or decrease fan speed and as a result, the volume of supply air. Actual speed is displayed on the left side of the indicator (symbol under the fan) as vertical bars. Use the buttons (11) you can install a ventilation rate of the windshield to prevent it from fogging (in high humidity). Button (12) includes a recirculation mode. This mode is designed to prevent the entry of dust into the cabin, the exhaust gas, odors, etc. This mode is automatically switched off after 30 seconds after the button is pressed (when the outdoor temperature is more than +3 ? C). Buttons (13) and (14) respectively, the air flow is switched to the upper body or legs. By pressing the button (18) (?OFF?) air conditioning system is switched off. This button is pressed only in exceptional cases, such as when a fault (after ignition all the characters on the display conditioning system flash for 15 seconds, in which case refer to the services of a service station). Using the air conditioner, remember: - To create the most favorable climatic conditions in the car, we recommend you select ?AUTO? and set the temperature in the range 22 ... 24 ? C; - In certain circumstances it may happen that the air conditioner some time working "wrong", for example, after a cold start a few seconds will direct the air mainly in the legs. This is provided by the manufacturer to ensure that when the hot air in the room not heated happening quick misting. Soon, the "normal" work of air conditioning and heating is restored; - To ensure the normal operation of the air conditioning system make sure that the temperature sensors are located between the duct grilles for the windscreen in the center of the front grille and near the radio, have not been closed; - When the air recirculation strongly should not smoke in the cabin. Tobacco smoke settles on the evaporator, and every time I turn the air conditioner will have an unpleasant "smoky" smell, get rid of which will be possible only by replacing the evaporator; - At high temperature and humidity of the water condensed on the evaporator is drained out, so while your vehicle is parked under it may form a small puddle. This is normal and not a sign of any malfunction; - Do not use the recirculation mode for a long time, because it does not flow into the cabin fresh air; - Make sure that the outer heat sink air conditioner is not clogged with dirt, if necessary, rinse it - it will improve its performance and prolong the lifespan; - Operating in the cooling mode, air conditioner selects the portion of engine power and increases fuel consumption.
NOTE During winter operation of the vehicle periodically (at least once a week), the air conditioner for a short time, but only in a warm room. This helps extend the life of the unit and reduces the chance of refrigerant leaks. |
Therefore, it is recommended to ventilate the interior of the vehicle, and only then the air conditioner; to increase the efficiency of the air conditioner, close all doors, windows and sunroof.
