Dismantling and assemblage of pistons and rods
| Fig. 2.27. Connecting rod and piston group: 1 - the piston; 2 - piston pin; 3 - a lock ring; 4 - the connecting rod; 5 - bearing; 6 - cylinder block; 7 - a cover of a rod; 8 - bolt connecting rod cap; 9 - oil scraper ring; 10 - compression ring
|
NOTE All support and work surfaces should be lubricated before installation works with engine oil. |
Checking the pistons Measure approximately 12 mm from the bottom edge, perpendicular to the piston pin axis. The maximum permissible deviation from the nominal size of 0.04 mm.
Checking the thermal gap of piston rings
| Fig. 2.28. Checking the thermal gap of piston rings
|
Will drive ring from above at right angles to the bottom of the cylinder bore at a distance of about 15 mm from its end (Fig. 2.28).
Checking piston ring gap height
Check the diameter of the cylinder
Spend measurements crosswise in three locations in the transverse direction and in the longitudinal direction (Fig. 2.30). The maximum permissible deviation from the nominal size of 0.08 mm.
NOTE It is forbidden to measure the diameter of the cylinder when the cylinder block is fixed to the retainer engine and transmission, as in this case, the results may be incorrect. |
