Checking the belt pulley on the bias (petrol engine 4,2L)
NOTE After replacing vane pump for power steering, air conditioning compressor and power steering pump bracket and the air conditioner compressor is necessary to carry out the following checks on the belt pulley misalignment to avoid damage to the V-ribbed belt. |
Remove the pulley-steering vane pump. Remove the serpentine belt.

Apply a template to a 3201 belt pulley for air conditioner compressor.
NOTE Air conditioner compressor pulley must match the power steering pump pulley. |
If the pulleys are not the same distance, align pulleys shims of 0.6; 0.8; 10; 1.2 and 1.4 mm (Fig. 2.7). Finally, check the alignment of the pulleys using the template 3201. Install vent clip. Torque: 25 Nm. Install the serpentine belt. Tighten the fastening screws power steering pump pulley to a torque of 22 Nm.
