Replacing valve stem seals
Withdrawal Remove the camshafts. Remove the roller lever with support elements and place them on a clean surface. It is forbidden to swap the roller lever and the supporting elements. Remove the spark plugs candle key 3122 B. Bring the piston of the corresponding cylinder in the "bottom dead center". Insert the assembly tool for valve 2036 with the adapter plate 2036/1 and align their position. Screw adapter T40012 / 1c candle well, connect the adapter to a standard pressure pipe and continuously supply pressure. The minimum excess pressure must be 6 bar.
Remove the valve springs with a lever for removing valve springs VW 541/1 A and mandrel VW 541/6 (Fig. 2.82).

Remove the valve stem seals using tool 3364.
Setting To avoid damage to the new valve stem seals, valve stem spread on the plastic cover A.
Grease a working edge of the valve stem seal B with engine oil and insert into the device for pressing 3365 and gently press into the guide sleeve (Fig. 2.83). Install camshafts. Adjust the timing.
