Checking and replacing the steering column switch
You will need: a screwdriver with a flat blade and Phillips. 1. Disconnect a wire from the plug "minus" of the storage battery. | | 4. 8. ... and detach the wiring harness connector by squeezing its lock. 9. Install the parts in reverse order of removal. 12. Disconnect from the steering column switch wiring harness pads and separate additional pad switch indicators and headlamps. 13. Remove the steering column connector and detach the wire. 14. Install the parts in reverse order of removal. Serviceability of the steering column switch is determined by checking the correctness of contact closure for different positions of the arms. Remove the switch to test and connect a test lamp 12V (current source) or avtotester with a "continuity" to the appropriate circuit terminals listed in Table. 10.7 and 10.8. Move the switch lever to the position corresponding verifiable contacts - lamp should illuminate. Otherwise, the switch is faulty.
