Balancer shafts



Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the timing belt.
  2. Remove all screws on oil sump.
  3. Remove the oil pan.
  4. Remove the oil strainer and O-ring.
  5. Remove the cover of the oil pump.
  1. Remove the oil pressure gauge.
  1. Remove the bolts of the balancing shaft.
  1. Remove the balancing shafts.
  1. Remove the bolts and remove the cylinder from the oil pump body and O-ring.
  2. Remove the cover of the oil pump from the oil pump.

Check

Front Cover

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the lubrication holes in the absence of contamination and, if necessary, clean them.
  2. Check the bearings of the front cover in contact with the balancing shaft for wear, damage and jamming.
  3. Check the front cover for cracks or damage and replace it if necessary.
  4. Replace split or damaged front cover.

Balancer shaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the shaft journal for wear or jamming
  2. If there is excessive wear or signs of seizure, carefully you check the bearing.
  1. In the presence of defects replace the bearing or shaft balancing.

Oil seal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the sealing lips of the oil seals for wear or damage.
  2. Check the sealing lips of the oil seals to the absence of destruction.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lubricate gear and align the timing marks on the gears.
  1. Apply sealant Locitite272 bolts on pinion and idler.
  1. Using the special tool 09231-27100, set in the case of the oil pump oil seal the front of the crankshaft.
  1. Complete sealing groove of the oil pump housing. Sealant: Loctite 5900 or equivalent.
  1. The thickness of the sealant layer must be about ?� 0.5 mm 2,5.
  2. After applying the sealant set the oil pump housing for no more than 5 minutes.
  1. Set in the case of the oil pump a new O-ring, and temporarily tighten the bolts fastening the pump.
  2. Install the oil pump housing with a new O-ring and tighten the bolts to a torque of the oil pump. Torque: 20-27 N ??? m.
  1. Install the balancing shafts in the crankcase.
  1. Apply a layer of sealant into the groove of the oil pan flange.
  1. The thickness of the sealant layer should be 3 ?� 0.5 mm.
  2. After applying the sealant set the oil pan for no more than 5 minutes.
  1. Install the oil pan and fix bolts, having tightened their demanded moment. Torque: 10-12 N ??? m.
  1. Using a special tool, screw the oil pressure gauge, pre-lubricated thread sealant layer sensor. Sealant: Threebond 1104 or equivalent.

Do not tighten the pressure sensor with a large torque. Tightening torque sensor pressure: 15-22 N ??? m.
