Check the voltage drop across the wire that connects the battery to the alternator
This test allows you to determine the connection terminals ?B? of the generator with the positive () terminal of the battery. Preparing for inspection | - Turn on the ignition.
| To eliminate any further problems when connecting the generator, make sure that the verification process does not damage the two terminals or connections. |
| - Connect a digital voltmeter to the plug ?B? and the generator to the positive () terminal of the battery.

Test condition Start the engine, turn on the lights, heater fan and other consumers of electricity and read on the voltmeter readings. Result of checking | - The voltmeter should show pressure of 0.3 V.
- If the voltage is more than 0.3V, then the wire is damaged or is not securely connected to the terminals of the generator and the battery.
To check the wires connect the terminal ?B? and the positive terminal of the battery additional wire with fusible link. Check the connection wires to the terminals and make sure that the insulation of the wire is melted by overheating. - Finally, turn off all electricity consumers and stop the engine.
