Removal, check of a condition and installation of the oil pump
Withdrawal | - Otboltite and lower oil pan (Section Removal and installation of the oil pan).
- Supporting oil pump, give bolts of its fastening to the rear main bearing cap.
| - Give bolts (arrows) and lower oil pump.
- Lower the pump with the strainer assembly maslozabornika, removing them from the vehicle. Strip the mating sealing surface.
Checking the Status | - Remove the pump cover.
- Press measuring flatness (rib steel ruler) to the inner surface of the pump cover and try to slip it under the blade thickness of 0.038 mm probe. If the probe extends into the gap, the pump must be replaced.
- Remove the driven gear pump with a micrometer and measure its thickness. If the thickness is less than the driven gear is permissible on the Specification values, the pump must be replaced. The pinion gear has the same minimum permissible thickness.
| - Using a micrometer, measure the thickness of the driven gear pump and compare the result with the data of the Specifications.
- With the probe determine the gap between the driven gear pump and the wall of his body, between the protruding ends of the teeth of the driving and driven gears, and between gear and pump cover. Compare the measurements with those of Specifications, in case of exceeding the limits, replace the pump.
| - Measure the gap between the driven gear and the pump casing.
| - Measure the clearance between the protruding portions of the teeth of gears pump.
| - Measure the clearance between the gear pump and its cover.
Setting | - Screw maslozabornuyu tube with a screen in the pump and tighten.
| Track reliability of a tightening maslozabornogo screen, as on the tightness of the connection depends on a guarantee to prevent the ingress of air lubrication system. |
- Fill the pump with oil, pouring it into maslozabornuyu tube.
- Place the pump on the engine, replacing the gasket and tracked so that the drive shaft of the pump proved properly aligned therein.
| - The drive shaft of the pump (arrow) must be properly aligned therein.
- Install the mounting bolts and tighten them with demanded effort.
- Replace the pan and pour into the engine oil.
- Start the engine and check for leaks and adequate oil pressure.
