Replacing the gland

Transmission Leaks often occur as a result of wear of the seal extension transmission housing or transfer case (models 4WD) and / or O-rings speed sensor / speedometer nozzle. Procedures for replacing these stuffing boxes and sealing rings are relatively simple, since it does not require removal of the transmission or the transfer case (AWD model) from the vehicle.

Gland extension housing / transfer case

Gland is located in the extension housing at the rear of the crankcase at the transmission or transfer case, where it is connected to the propeller shaft. Assembling VSS / speedometer nozzles located on the left side wall extension transmission housing 2WD models, or on the rear wall of the transfer case 4WD models. To determine the signs of leaks through the O-ring check for signs of transmission fluid casing drive cable.

Install the speedometer and the clip attachment screw. Tighten the clamp screw to the required torque. Connect the electrical connector. Remove the jacks and lower the car to the ground.
