Removal and installation of the steering mechanism

Make sure that the steering shaft was not turned at the removed steering mechanism, as this may damage the airbag. One way to lock the shaft is turning the ignition key to LOCK. You can also skip the seatbelt through the steering wheel and snap its buckle.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Poddomkratte the front of the car and establish it on props. Cock a lay brake.
Install the drain container under the gear casing (only for machines equipped with hydraulic). Disconnect hoses / tubes hydraulic lines and plug the open ends in order to minimize the loss of fluid and contaminants to enter the system. If there is one, use the line to disconnect a special key for the union nuts.
Mark the position of the lower intermediate shaft universal joint with respect to the input shaft of the steering mechanism. Remove the lower intermediate shaft pinch bolt.

Loosen the nut of data compression fittings (arrows) and remove the line from the steering system hydrostrengthening steering gear box, and then mark the position of the universal joint of the intermediate shaft relative to the input shaft of the steering mechanism and loosen the pinch bolt.

Give a nut fry steering, remove the washer. Mark the position of the bipod with respect to the shaft - during installation it must be strictly observed.

Before removing the bipod mark its position with respect to the steering shaft.

With dvuhzahvatnogo puller fry separate from the steering shaft.

To separate the fry from the steering shaft, use the extractor.

Hold the steering mechanism, give bolts of its fastening. Lower the unit by disconnecting the intermediate shaft from the input shaft of the steering mechanism. Remove the steering mechanism of the vehicle.

The steering mechanism is attached to the frame side member with three bolts (arrows).

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Raise the steering mechanism in the loading position and connect the intermediate shaft, having tracked correctness of combination of labels.
Install the mounting bolts and washers. Tighten bolts with demanded effort.
Put the shaft fry. Make sure of correctness of combination of labels. Place the washer and nut and tighten last with demanded effort.
Install the lower intermediate shaft pinch bolt and tighten it with demanded effort.
Connect the crankcase steering hoses / tubes hydraulic lines and add to the tank system hydrostrengthening required amount of liquid required grade (see. Specifications to the Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance).
Lower the car and bleed steering system (Section Bleeding hydrostrengthening steering system).
