Check the operation of the brake servo
Failure of the vacuum amplifier significantly increases the force on the brake pedal, which adversely affects driving. If the force on the pedal during braking has considerably increased compared to conventional check brake booster vehicle is stationary. You will need: pliers, screwdriver, rubber bulb. | | 1. With the engine off, press five or six times on the brake pedal. Hold the pedal depressed, start up the engine. The brake pedal should move forward. If it does not ... | 2. ... check the tightness of the vacuum hose to the inlet pipe socket 1 (receiver) and 2 pipe vacuum brake booster (pictured air supply tube removed for clarity). |
NOTES The vacuum hose check valve. Not allowed looseness and damage parts. Loose clamps and replace damaged parts. |
| | 3. To check the non-return valve, remove the vacuum hose. To do this, loosen the hose clip to the nozzle of the vacuum booster inlet tube (receiver), squeezing it with pliers bent tabs, slide the clamp on a hose ... | 4. ... and disconnect the hose. |
| 5. Similarly disconnect the hose from the nozzle of the vacuum brake booster. |
6. Check the operation of the check valve of the vacuum brake booster, which create a negative pressure (for example, a rubber bulb) in the hose from its connection to the nozzle of the vacuum brake booster. Insert the bulb in the hole and tighten. Air from the pear to be released through the valve opening in the opposite hose. Release the bulb. If she stayed in a compressed state, it means that the valve is undamaged. In the absence of a pear, you can purge the valve mouth. |
NOTES In case of failure of the check valve replace the hose assembly with the valve. Do not bend, twist, and of leakage of the vacuum hose. |
7. Install the parts in reverse order of removal. |
