Replacing the parking brake cable

Fixing the front of a cable shown in Fig. 299. It is connected between the handbrake lever and an equalizer on the underside of the car. When replacing proceed as described below, but it should be noted that the service center to remove the lock ring using a special tool:

- Loosen the four screws on the bottom of the equalizer of the car (see. Fig. 296) and move the whole arm forward; - Fixed on the cable to remove the equalizer from the lever; - Remove the retaining clip from the shaft mounting the front and pull out the cable axis; - Cut the fixing tape holding the rope; - Removed from the cross beams retaining clips on the guide rope; - To remove the clip from the tip of a cable where it is held in the floor of the car and pull the rope down; - Remove the retaining ring fastening the cable (using the previously mentioned special tools 901 589 00 63 00) and pull the hose forward; Installation is performed in reverse order of removal. Finally, adjust the parking brake, as described previously.
