Exhaust gas recirculation
Exhaust gas recirculation, referred to as AGR (English abbreviation - EGR), serves to reduce the exhaust gases of nitrogen oxides. Part of the gases discharged through the adjustable valve system and is supplied again to the intake manifold by reducing the temperature in the combustion chamber, which leads to a reduction of the oxides of nitrogen. Operation and control of the recirculation system is controlled by an electronic system self-injection (2.9 L on the engine). This manual operation of the system is not considered in detail.
