Check the power supply system, replacement of the fuel filter

Gasoline is highly flammable in, so when working with any components of the fuel system must take special precautions! Do not smoke, and do not go near the place of work with open flames or unprotected moving the shade. Do not perform such work in the garages equipped with heaters powered by natural gas (such as water heater, dryer, etc.)! The working area should be well ventilated. If any gasoline spills on your skin, immediately rinse it off with soap and water. When carrying out any work on the fuel system put on goggles and keep a fire extinguisher. In the event of spillage immediately wipe the puddle of gasoline, but do not hold the rags impregnated with gasoline in places where there is a risk of ignition it!

Checking System

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. If you feel the smell of gasoline during movement or after the vehicle has stood in the sun, you should immediately check the condition of the entire fuel system.
  2. Remove the fuel tank cap and check for damage and corrosion. The sealing insert on the lid must be an integer. In case of damage or corrosion, replace the cover.
  3. Inspect the intake and return lines of the fuel system for cracks. Make sure that the connection lines between the fuel system and the fuel injection system, and the lines between the fuel system and built-in fuel filter is not weakened.

On vehicles equipped with fuel injection before to serve fuel hoses, it is necessary to relieve pressure in the system (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust system)!

  1. Since some fuel system components - for example, some of the fuel tank and the fuel line system - at the bottom of the car, they are easier to inspect, when the car is raised winch. If this is not possible, Poddomkratte car and establish it on support.
  2. On the raised car examine a fuel tank and the filler neck for the presence of holes, cracks and other damage. Pay special attention to the state of the connection between the tank and the filler neck. Sometimes fuel leaks occur owing to easing of collars of fastening rubber mouth or because of material damage to the neck. Inspect all brackets and lentykrepleniya fuel tank to make sure that it is securely fastened to the vehicle.

Never, under any circumstances, attempt to repair the tank (excluding the replacement of its rubber components). Flame welding machine, or any other open fire can easily cause an explosion of petrol vapors in the tank.

  1. Carefully check all fuel hoses and metal lines from the tank for loose connections, twists, signs of wear material hoses and other damages. If necessary, repair or replace the damaged section.

  7. Release the mounting clip (91/1) and remove the fuel filter assembly with assembly connected to the front part of the pressure regulator.
  8. Assess the mounting bracket, in case of need make replacement.
  9. Installation is in the reverse order. Clamp fastening of the fuel filter tighten to 3 Nm.
  10. Start the engine and check the relevant elements of the fuel path for signs of leaks, if necessary, tighten fixing collars / connectors.
