| - Details of installation of 717,461 Manual transmission models ML 230 are shown in the illustration, which includes all the links in the text.
- Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
- Remove the transfer case (see chap. The transmission line).
- Give nuts (11).
- Remove the bolts (9) and remove the support bracket of the exhaust system (10).
- Remove the retainer (32) and remove the rod from the shift of the operating lever (2).
- Remove the clutch slave cylinder (see chap. Transmission line) and without disconnecting the hydraulic lines, take him aside.
- Prop up transmission (1) trolley jack.
- Remove the bolts (6) and, at the same time averting the jack back and down, separate the transmission (1) from the engine, - if necessary, press up the holder (7).
- Check the condition of release bearing (3), fork release lever (4) and equipped with a grooved ball bearing on the crankshaft of the engine.
- Check the transmission oil level, which should reach the lower edge of the control / filler plug - if necessary make an appropriate adjustment (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust).
- Installation is performed in reverse order when installing the clutch slave cylinder, make sure that the thrust pin (5) got into spherical receptacle in claw clutch lever (4).
