- Connect the vacuum gauge (030) to the brake booster, and then a few taps on the brake pedal reset the vacuum in the vacuum path.
- Connect the tester (051) to the service port, or to the brake caliper.
- To connect the foot brake caliper (060).
- Start the engine and a sharp releasing the accelerator pedal depressed, create a vacuum in the path of the required vacuum (0.60 ÷ 0.80 bar).
- If the vacuum falls immediately, or its depth is insufficient, check the O-ring installed between the vacuum servo amplifier and GTZ, also not ruled out the probability of failure of the control valve in the vacuum line. Assess the non-return valve and the vacuum lines and the receiver drive locking differentials. On diesel models, make sure of serviceability of functioning of the vacuum pump. Replace defective components.
- Squeezing the pedal to the required efforts, consider reading the tester. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications.
- Disconnect the meter (060), the tester (051) and the vacuum gauge (030).
- Bleed the brake system (see. Section Bleeding brake system).
