Check and adjust idle speed and CO content in the exhaust gases
Adjustment is carried out on the engine at operating temperature, after checking the technical condition of the engine. Ensure the normal functioning of the fuel supply system, health of intake and exhaust systems, exhaust gas recirculation, hydraulic brakes. Disconnect all auxiliary power consumers. Before adjusting the idle perform the initial installation of the ignition timing.

Undock connector throttle position sensor. Start up the engine two or three times to increase the momentum of its 2000-3000 min-1; then return to idle. Engine speed at idle speed should be (700 ? 50) min-1 for vehicles with manual transmission (800 ? 50) min-1 for vehicles with automatic transmission. If necessary, make adjustments using the adjustment screw located on the right side of the throttle body (Fig. 2.95). Dock connector throttle position sensor after installing the recommended speed. The CO content in the exhaust gas should be not more than 0.5%; when adjusted using a gas analyzer.
