Check of dustproof covers of hinges of the front suspension

Check the status of dustproof covers of the bottom hinges of the front suspension

Check the status of dustproof covers of the bottom hinges (1) front suspension and the tie rod (2)

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Lift the front of the car and fix on supports, thus wheels should hang in the air.

2. Light portable lamp dustproof covers of the bottom hinges front suspension (arrows) (see. Fig. Checking the status of dustproof covers of the bottom hinges of the front suspension) and check their condition.

3. Light a portable lamp dustproof covers of hinges of the upper front suspension (1), and the dust cover tie rod (2) and check their status, see. Fig. Checking the status of dustproof covers of the bottom hinges (1) and the front suspension tie rod ( 2).

A warning

Any deterioration of these covers will lead to loss of lubricant and the ingress of water and dirt, ending the rapid deterioration of spherical hinges or steering transfer.
In the presence of defects, for security reasons, at service stations VW replace the corresponding hinge with dust cover.
