Removing and installing V-ribbed belt

Ribbed Belts - is essentially flat belt, one side of which there are ribs. Ribbed belt drives the alternator, power steering pump, ventilyato pa radiator, air conditioner compressor and water pump depending on engine modifications. On models with four-cylinder engines with air conditioning to drive the air conditioning compressor uses a separate belt.

Withdrawal
| PERFORMANCE ORDER | | 1. Remove the V-ribbed belts drive the power steering pump, alternator and radiator fan. | | 2. If the belt is repeatedly established, using a marker or paint an arrow mark direction of rotation. |  | 3. Loosen the screws that secure the V-ribbed belt tensioner and after easing tension ribbed belt remove it from pulleys. |

Setting
| PERFORMANCE ORDER | | 1. Place the poly V-belt pulleys. When reinstalling the V-ribbed belt set it in accordance with the previously applied by the arrow. | | 2. Verify the location of the V-ribbed belt on pulleys. |  | 3. Set the torque wrench on the tensioner pulley bracket V-ribbed belt and rotate it to 25 Nm and in this position, tighten the bolts tightening mechanism (A). | | 4. Install the drive belt power steering pump and alternator radiator fan. |

Withdrawal
| PERFORMANCE ORDER | | 1. If the belt is repeatedly established, using a marker or paint, mark the direction of rotation of the belt. | | 2. Move the front belt cover. |  | 3. To loosen the belt, using a wrench, turn the tensioner clockwise and fix steel rod with a diameter of 5 mm. | | 4. Remove belt from pulleys. |

| PERFORMANCE ORDER | | 1. Check that all pulleys are properly secured, otherwise tighten the pulley bolt. | | 2. Place the straps on the motor pulley. When you reinstall the seat, place them according to earlier put the arrows. | | | 3. During the wrench press belt tensioner clockwise and remove the steel rod, the locking mechanism of a tension. A warning  Operations on removal and installation of a belt similar to operations on removal and installation of the belt for the four-cylinder gasoline engine. This subsection provides only operations that are typical of diesel engines.
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |  | 1. A wrench for a bolt head, turn the tensioner roller anti-clockwise and remove the belt. The bolt has a left-hand thread, so by turning it counterclockwise it will not be unscrewed. |

| PERFORMANCE ORDER | | A wrench for a bolt head, turn the belt tensioner clockwise and install the belt on the pulleys. Slowly release the tensioner roller, with the belt tension will be adjusted automatically. |

Five-cylinder engine
Withdrawal
| PERFORMANCE ORDER | 1. Remove the four bolts from the hub, securing the radiator fan and remove it.
|  | 2. 15 mm socket wrench to turn the tensioner bolt clockwise, and remove the belt. |

Setting
| PERFORMANCE ORDER | | Using a ring spanner, rotate the tensioner roller clockwise and put the belt. Slowly release the tension roller, thus there will be an automatic belt tension. |

Six-cylinder engine
Location of the auxiliary drive belt on the six-cylinder engine

A warning For vehicles without air conditioning system is installed accessory drive belt pulley 6 on the pulley 4.
Withdrawal
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |  | 1. Hold the heat sink fan pulley from turning, a special key VW-3212 conventional wrench, unscrew the pulley bolt. Keep in mind that the bolt has a left-hand thread, so its loosening, it is necessary to rotate clockwise. |  | 2. wrench to turn the belt tensioner clockwise to align the holes. Lock the tensioner in this position by inserting a steel rod into the hole diameter of 5 mm. |

Setting
| PERFORMANCE ORDER | | 1. Put the belt in a counterclockwise direction in the first place on the crankshaft pulley, then on a tension roller. | | 2. Remove the steel rod, the locking mechanism of a tension. | 3. Replace the cooling fan pulley and fix its bolt, having tightened its moment of 40 Nm.
A warning Pulley bolt radiator fan has a left-hand thread, so the tightening bolts must be carried out by turning it counterclockwise.

V-belt for four petrol engines, except for engines AHL 1,6-I
V-belt is used to drive the water pump. On engines 1,6-I AHL water pump is driven by a toothed belt.
Withdrawal
| PERFORMANCE ORDER | | 1. If the belt is repeatedly established, using a marker or paint an arrow mark direction of rotation of the belt. | | 2. Move the front belt cover. | | 3. Reduce the tension of the belt drive power steering pump, alternator and radiator fan. Using a steel rod, lock in the retracted position the belt tensioning pulley. |  | 4. Using a steel rod (1) with a diameter of 5 mm, fix the radiator fan pulley from turning, the back of the key, unscrew the pulley (2) and remove the radiator fan. |  | 5. Remove the pulley belt water pump. To pulley was not turned by unscrewing bolts a steel rod or screwdriver to fix the pulley power steering pump. | | 6. Remove the V-belt. |

Setting
| PERFORMANCE ORDER | | 1. Place the V-belt. | | 2. Slowly and evenly screw the pulley belt to the water pump. | | 3. Turn the water pump pulley for correct installation of the V-belt pulley groove. | | 4. Tighten the water pump pulley to 25 Nm. ?� Produce belt tension adjustment is not required. | | 5. Install the radiator fan and put the V-belt pulley on the radiator fan. | | 6. Screw the radiator fan bolt, having tightened its moment of 45 Nm. | | 7. Install the belt and adjust its tension. |
