Removing and installing thermostat
The need for the removal of the thermostat may have to replace it with the unstable temperature range of the engine - overheating or insufficient heating. To check the thermostat on a cold engine start up the car and touched the top (inlet) radiator hose - it must be cold. When the coolant temperature reaches 80-85 ?� C, the hose must start quickly heat up, which indicates the beginning of the circulation of liquid in a large circuit. If not, remove the thermostat and test it. The thermostat has a folding design, so in case of failure it is replaced in gathering. You will need: all the tools needed to relieve the timing as well as the key "13", a screwdriver. 4. Remove the timing belt (see. "Replacing and adjusting the tension of the timing belt and its replacement by a tension roller"). | | 6. Remove the two screws on the slot cover of the thermostat ... | 7. ... and take cover aside, without disconnecting from it a hose. |
| | 8. Having hooked a screw-driver, remove from the slot in the cylinder head thermostat with a rubber O-ring. | 9. Remove the sealing ring from the thermostat. Ring replace each time the thermostat. |
10. Install the O-ring on the new thermostat and set the thermostat in the slot. 11. Replace the slot cover by clearing the gasket surfaces of the cylinder head and cover of the oxides and dirt.
HELPFUL ADVICE Before installing the thermostat cover put on it a flange sealant. |
12. Replace the timing belt and adjust its tension (see. "Replacing and adjusting the tension of the timing belt and its replacement by a tension roller"). 13. Install the parts in reverse order of removal.
