Replacement of a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
Otboltite fan cover and slide it back, moving through the fan.
With the lever, turn the drive belt mounted units in a clockwise direction so as to form the ability to remove the tape from the belt tensioner pulley.
Give bolts and separate the crankshaft pulley from vibration damper.

Give the crankshaft pulley bolt (arrow) and a large central bolt vibration damper.

Give a big bolt of vibration damper. To hold the crankshaft by turning in the process of giving remove the starter bolt (Head of System of an electric motor) and ask the assistant to jam a large screwdriver in the flywheel / drive disk.
Using a special puller (see. Chapter straight six-cylinder engine) (ask in shops of automobile accessories), remove vibration damper.

Do not use a stripper, exciting edge damper. Puller must be attached to the pulley bolts and apply a force to the hub damper. Observe also that the front tip remover has diameter larger than the hole in the front end of the crankshaft.

Using a special tool or a large screwdriver, remove the seal from the lid of the distribution chain.

To prevent leakage of try not to scratch and not to deform the socket gland.

Removing the crankshaft front oil seal using the special puller - try not to damage the surface of the shaft journal.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Sand nest gland by removing from the surface all traces of the old gasket material and corrosion. Install a new oil seal into the socket jaws (usually from the jaws installed expansion spring) inside (the engine). A small amount of oil deposited on the outer edges of the gland will facilitate the installation - but do not overdo lubrication.
Zastuchite gland in the slot to complete its landing it in using a large hammer and interchangeable head (see. Chapter straight six-cylinder engine). Pick head so that its outer diameter equal to the outer diameter of the gland. Ensure that the new oil seal "sat" into the slot in the cover flange.
Check the condition of the surface in contact with the gland vibration damper. If the gland developed in the surface of the groove, the damper can be restored by pressing a special insert in it - contact the service center workshop.

If the gland developed in the sealing surface of the groove of the damper, the damper can be restored by setting a special insert (ask in shops of automobile accessories).

Lubricate the oil seal lips clean motor oil, and replace the damper.
