Cars these models are equipped with a sensor-switch start authorization, which prevents starting the engine when the gear selector lever position other than "P" or ?�N?� (AT).

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Attempt to start the engine at all possible positions of the selector lever. Starting should be possible only in the two mentioned above. Otherwise the gauge-switch is faulty or start authorization needs to be adjusted (see chap. Automatic transmission).
Make sure the steering lock lock allows turning the ignition key in this position (LOCK) only when the selector lever to position "P" (AT).
The key is to be taken out from the ignition switch only after the turn it to LOCK.
