Replacing fluid and filter automatic transmission (every 48 000 km (30,000 miles) or every two years)

Drain and replace transmission fluid antibodies should be performed in accordance with the schedule of routine maintenance of the car. As the transmission fluid remains hot for a long time after the engine is switched off, the procedure should be done only after full cooling of the power unit. On models since 1994, vol. Manufacturers also recommend to make at this stage of adjustment of the transmission belts (Section Adjusting tapes automatic transmission (AT) (models from 1994 g.vyp.) (Every 48 000 km (30,000 miles) or every two years)), so the procedure requires removal of the transmission oil pan.

Before you begin, purchase the required amount of transmission fluid demanded grade (see. Section Recommended lubricants and fluids at the beginning of this chapter) and a new filter.

Among other tools needed for this procedure include jacks for lifting the car off the ground, drain capacity sufficient to receive at least 4.6 liters of fluid volume, the stock of old newspapers and a sufficient amount of clean cloth.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props.
  2. Install the drain container under the transmission, give back and side sump bolts of transmission. Front loosen the screws only by about 4 turns.
  3. Carefully pry off the tray with a screwdriver, allowing fluid to drain into a container
  1. Without removing completely, but loosening the bolts of the front transmission oil pan, gently pull the back of the tray down, providing the possibility of fluid leakage into the drain capacitance.
  1. Remove the remaining bolts, pan and gasket. Strip the transmission case mating surface, carefully remove all traces with no material of an old lining and hermetic.
  2. Pour the remaining liquid in the pan, wash the pan and allow it to dry solvent, possibly benefiting from the compressed air.
  3. Give the fastening screws of the filter from the valve body and remove the filter.
  1. Give bolts of the filter - will require a special key with a head of type TORX.
  1. Once the filter is turned off you can try to assess the state of the transmission, carefully inspect the bottom of the pan its housing, the filter and drain the liquid. During use transmission fluid can change its color from bright red to dark red or even brown. If Drain has a very dark color and the smell of burning, it can be considered a sign of overheating the transmission. The discovery at the bottom of the filter pan or fine metal particles indicates possible damage to the internal components. In the absence of certainty in determining the state of the transmission of the above symptoms, you should take the vehicle to the dealer branch or a workshop Car for a more detailed examination.
  2. Cushioning scraper to scrape off all traces of the old gasket material from the valve body.

Observe extreme caution - be careful not to damage the uncured surface of the valve body. Install the new filter and gasket.

  1. Ensure absolute cleanliness of the surface of the sump liner transmission, then replace the pan magnet (if provided) and a new gasket. Attach the tray to the transmission housing, and moving along the perimeter of each approach gradually tighten fixing bolts with demanded effort.
  1. Attach the new gasket to the flange of the transmission oil pan and insert to fasten the mounting bolts.
  1. Lower the car on the ground and in the transmission, top up through the filler pipe (Section Checking automatic transmission fluid (every 400 km (250 miles) run or weekly)) required amount (about 3 liters) of fluid a desired grade.
  2. When set to "P" transmission and cocked the parking brake Start the engine turns of fast idling, but not gazuyte.
  3. Spend the selector lever through all of the position, returning it back to position "P". Recheck the transmission fluid level, if necessary, make topping.
  4. After warming up the transmission re-check the transmission fluid level (Section Checking automatic transmission fluid (every 400 km (250 miles) run or weekly)). During the first few trips to look under the car, checking for leaks fluid.
