Removing and installing heat exchanger heater
| The air conditioning system is constantly under pressure. Do not loosen the couplings of lines or disconnect any of the components of the system prior to its discharge. Coolant must be pumped out of the system in a special compensatory and regenerative EPA-unit station dealer branch or an authorized service center. When disconnecting the lines of the system, always wear safety goggles! |
Withdrawal | Repair exchanger heater car Jeep Grand Cherokee is a difficult task that lies outside the qualification of the average mechanic-fan work should be done very carefully, without haste. Many of the fittings and electrical connections of the system are located deep under the dashboard, and access to them is very limited. To remove the unit from the car heater / air conditioner must remove the entire dashboard. |
| - On models equipped with air conditioning, make a discharge system (see. The warning above).
- Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
- Drain the cooling system (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance) and disconnect the hoses from the inlet and outlet of the heat exchanger heater fittings.
- Remove console lower steering column assembly and remove the dashboard (Section Body).
- Disconnect the electric heater fan motor connector (Section Removal and installation of the unit heater fan).
- On models equipped with air conditioning, disconnect the line from the evaporator system bulkhead engine compartment. To disconnect fittings require special clamps.
| - To stretch the ring spring when disconnecting lines of air-conditioning system is necessary to use a special tool.
|
- Remove the expansion tank (see section Removing and installing radiator and expansion tank of cooling system).
- Remove the engine compartment bulkhead processor (PCM), not disunite 60-terminal electrical connector.
- PCM Pull far enough to give the fastening nut block heater / air conditioner (three behind the processor, one - above the distributor on models with engine V8) from the studs on the side facing the engine side of the bulkhead of the engine compartment.
| - Give nuts on the motor housing side of the bulkhead compartment.
|
- Mark and disunite electric sockets for heater / air conditioner and fan motor resistor assembly. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum motor.
- Remove the drain tube evaporator.
- Remove the sleeve blowing glass (on the block heater / air conditioner).
| - Disconnect the hose heating rear foot wells.
|
- Give nuts from the studs to the reverse side of the cabin bulkhead engine compartment and take assemblage of a heater / air conditioner out of the car.
- Give fixing screws and remove the coil heater by pulling it straight up out of the housing.
| - The heat exchanger heater is removed from the housing for heater / air conditioner.
|
|
|
Setting | - Install a heat exchanger in a casing of a heater / air conditioner and replace the screws.
- When you install CONNECT exchanger gasket for fixing it during the installation of the fan assembly.
- The installation of the remaining components are produced in the reverse order of their removal.
| When installing the fan cowl / evaporator careful not to pinch the wires between the housing inlet and the instrument panel on the right side of the housing. |
- Fill the cooling system.
- Make evacuation, recharge and check for leakage of the air conditioning system (if any).
- Start the engine and check that its operation.
