Measure the inner diameter of each valve guide in X and Y directions in three points (A, B, and C), as shown 2.141. If the diameter is not correct, replace the valve guide. Standard inside diameter: - Intake: 5,509-5,539 mm; - Issue: 5,509-5,539 mm.

Calculate the gap between the rod and the valve guide by subtracting the value of the outer diameter of the valve stem from the value corresponding to the inner diameter of the valve guide (Fig. 2.142). If the result is not correct, replace the valve and / or valve guide. - Normal clearance: - Intake: 0,024-0,069 mm; - Issue: 0,029-0,074 mm. - Maximum gap: 0.10 mm.
