Measurement of the radial clearance of the connecting rod
Remove the connecting rod cap.
Put the pieces of the calibrated plastic wire on top of the neck of a cam-shaft, placing them along the axis of (2.170). Install the connecting rod bearing and the connecting rod cap. Remove the connecting rod cap. Measure the radial clearance of the connecting rod. If the clearance is not correct, replace the connecting rod bearing or grind the crank pin of the crankshaft bearings and use a larger size so that this gap has been provided.
Normal clearance: 0,026-0,052 mm Maximum gap: 0.10 mm
