Replacement of brushes of the generator and a pressure regulator
Self-adjust or repair the generator and connected to the voltage regulator is recommended only if you have experience of such work. In some shops the old generator is exchanged for a new and offer installation. On the set in the generator bearings are greased, designed for life, so they do not require regular maintenance. Outside, the generator should be kept clean to avoid getting him water or other liquids. Brushes generator in contact with the smooth slip rings and therefore are designed for long service life. To check the brushes of the generator must be removed. Then carry out the following work:

- To turn away three bolts 1 (fig. 308) and remove the cover 2; - The brush holder in the block with 6 voltage regulator to turn away from the generator and remove. Controller for this little tip, so as not to damage the brush;

- Measure the length of the brush and, as shown in Fig. 309. If it is less than 5 mm, unsolder the wires to the brushes; - Solder the new brushes and install parts in reverse order. Ensure that the brush is located above the slip rings. When you install the voltage regulator it should come into contact with terminal 4 of the "masses".
