Removing and installing the steering knuckle, ball joint replacement
Details of installation of the knuckle | |
| - Details of installation of the knuckle shown in the illustration, which includes all the links in the text.
- Remove a corresponding forward wheel.
- Give the hub nut (65a), - the nut must be replaced without fail.
- Disconnect the wiring from the sensor wheel and brake pad wear indicator.
- Remove the brake disc (see chap. Brakes and auxiliary systems).
- Remove the knuckle assembly from the wheel sensor assembly with its mounting bracket.
- Disconnect from the steering knuckle tie rod (10), evaluate the state of the boot and the degree of wear of the tip, in case of need make replacement.
- With the help of a stripper release the ball joint from the upper control arm (6) (see chap. Suspension and steering). Check the status of the boot, vote for wear ball assembly, in case of need make replacement.
- With extractor press out of his front drive shaft flange.
- Fixing the knuckle, press out the ball joint from the lower knuckle. Check the status of the boot, vote for wear ball assembly, in case of need make replacement.
- Remove the knuckle assembly (5) out of the car.
- Installation is in the reverse order - if necessary, use the appropriate special tool. Track correctness of a lining and connect wiring.

Replacement of ball bearings Details of installation of the lower ball joint to the knuckle
| - Remove the knuckle (See above.).
- Disconnect and expand the brake board.
- Extract the ball bearing (7) of the knuckle (5).
- With castle nut and an appropriate key press in new ball bearing until it stops at the knuckle, - replace the nut.
- Put in place the brake shield and install the knuckle on the car (see. Above).
